Custom Preloader

From MegaZine3
Jump to: navigation, search

It is possible to change the Megazine 3 preloader. The preloader is the white circle that says Megazin3 and has a bar that fills up when you first start Megazine. To do this, you must recompile preloader.fla. You need Adobe Flex or Flash Builder.

[edit] Get The Sources

You need to get the preloader.fla source from SVN. These depend on the full sources for Megazine, so check out everything in trunk.

Note: as of revision 414 this is no longer necessary, and the preloader.fla is fully standalone.

[edit] Change the Preloader

Now make the necessary changes in Flash Builder to make your preloader look the way you want.

[edit] Swap The Preloader

Changing the preloader is easy and if you download the package offered in the latest tutorial (green button on page 4): http://www.vservu.de/mz3-tut/index-tut-t1e.html#/4

You’ll get 3 scripts that help you manage MZ3 books (more details later), the latest MegaZine3 Software (v2.0.7) and the tutorial as PDF copy.

The 3 scripts (pdf2mz3 tools) not only help you to convert a pdf file into an offline and online MZ3 book within a minute but also in managing many books easily. With the package comes a folder _custom_files with already 3 sample files:

The _set_param.bat script offers many parameters with explanations, that you can modify to your needs. And the _pdf2mz3.bat script adds thos parameters to a magazine.mz3 file that is automatically created; and will show your PDF file as a MZ3 book. If you wish prepared for upload to a server, but also in a folder that can be copied onto a CD or DVD or stick.

The custom files will be used (copied to the magazine folder and then put with the correct context into the index file and magazine.mz3 file. Give it a try; and you can have your own logo, page background and preloader. The only thing you had to do is using the standard preloader.fla file and modify it accordingly (changing the MZ3 logo with yours). And then publish as swf and copy it to _custom_files and rename it to custom_preloader.swf
