Logo and Preloader restrictions in v2.1.x

Together with the new major version 2.1 our license model changed:

• new licenses had been introduced, old ones disappeared. Details will be discussed in a separate question/answer
• the rights and duties changed. One of the effected areas is the logo in the background and the preloader, which will be discussed in this answer

What if I already use my own logo?

Private users could use version v2.0.x for free, without any limitations: own logo and preloader, unlimited paged.
Commercial users had to purchase a license.

Many had been confused with the decision what is private and what is commercial. And in many questions just used the software without asking. In future the MZ3-FREE is free for everybody; private and commercial users. a benefit for commercial users, a disadvantage for private users because of the new restrictions of the embedded MZ3-FREE license:

• no modifications of the logo (besides a downsizing to 50% of the original size), no own preloader.
• Page count limited to 50 without any restrictions, beyond that limit a watermark will be added to even pages.

But there is a solution: Private users can continue to use version 2.0.x under the old conditions; i.e. unlimited pages and own logo and preloader. Version 2.0.x is very stable and fully functional. Actually there is not a lot that comes with version 2.1.x that would attract private users:

• FLASH10 support, which allows higher flexibility and offers more options with text in FLASH
• AIR support: which promises iPAD and iPOD support (Adobe's AIR framework is free and besides Windows also supports iOS)

In future we will add more features, and then everybody can make the personal decision what is the best compromise: old version with own logo or new version with our logo or one of the affordable full licenses.
