Zoom in two pages
« on: April 02, 2009, 11:19:03 am »
Hi,

This is my suggestion. Currently we can zoom in only one page and use the navigator to go to another page. I saw in other flip systems that we can zoom two pages at same time. It's like zoom two images. It's an interesting thing, because it's like we are reading an open newspaper on the table.

It's better showing it working than trying to explain.. take a look at the link below
It's an flip system that was based on flipBookAPI. This company(VirtualPaper) has implemented it.
http://www.bancadigital.com.br/cg/dcachoeirinha/reader2/

In the toolbar there's a zoom tool. Click on it and you will see that 3 options will appear. The middle one is intended to zoom both opened pages.

I am sorry but I don’t speak Spanish and because of that I can’t understand the Text. I’m prompted to click on the button OK , but that I wouldn't doing.

Seen the demo. It's awfully slow loading for me, but I see what you mean.

Amusingly, I've had someone ask me how to implement something like that just this
afternoon. In principle the implementation should be quite simple, so I'll think about
it. The only thing I'm not sure how to deal with is how to define those "doublezooms"...

@Bob: gemeint ist, dass statt einem Bild im Zoom, z.B. einer fuer die linke Seite und
einer fuer die rechte, ein gemeinsamer Zoom verfuegbar ist, in dem beide Seiten drin
sind.
For the Snark was a Boojum, you see.

Before you ask a question
          After you get an answer
  • please document your problem with the answer in the Project Wiki. (e.g. in the FAQs)
  • help others out if you can, by answering their questions on the forum.

Florian: It's true, that flip is too slow, I don't like it, but it has some original stuffs.

Bob, you don't need to read/understand any text hehe :)
Just open that site and wait for loading... turn at least one page of the newspaper.
You will see an zoom tool on top of the page, right? click on it.. it will open a submenu with 3 zoom options.
The left one can be used to zoom the left page.
The right one can be used to zoom the right page.
And finally the middle one zoom both pages.

Hi Marison,
Thank you for the piece of advice and I know what you mean!
I was already on the Site and it goes without saying that I've saw the PopDown Menu.
Principally the whole is very clear for me, but actually I wanted to see the result and I think that an OK- Button as confirmation is not necessary about it!

heh, that "ok" button is like a usage tip. It says something like "Use the mouse to move the page". It not necessary.

Hi Marison,
Thank you again for the unmistakable hint!
Now I’ve saw the Page and tried out the zoom.
My observation is:
The zoom on the double page works logically but not efficient - the whole fairly slowly.
The zoom on the right side shows again the double-page!?
Conclusion:
In general a good idea, but my opinion, not straight-effective and well implemented.
The possibility like on MegaZine 3 with the mouse to zoom-in and to zoom-out unfortunately is not given.
The entire contents would you seeing only when you're going to move the Page.
One loses the orientation and it’s really grindingly!
