OS and browser
« on: July 09, 2010, 03:56:42 pm »
Is there any table that the Megazine version had been tested with different OS and Browser?
We can get input from the members but we need to make the demo files (per each version) available for download to have a consistent results and comparisons. This is like a benchmark. Int his way, developer have a better understanding of the features.

Example:
File: demo   Lib: Megazine3 ver 2.09
OS:windowsxp=working, windows7=?
Browser: IE7=working
Time to load: ......
etc...

Thanks,

Ruel

MegaZine3 just needs Flash (version 9 or newer for now, might update to require version 10 soon, as it's very well distributed now).
As long as the browser has the Flash plugin installed, it'll run. So it'll work the same on Windows, Linux, Mac, with IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari, you name it.
There may be minute differences in speed, but that'll be due to the variance in implementation quality of the Flash player for a given platform.
For the Snark was a Boojum, you see.

I use a PC and a Mac with different browsers and indeed it's just a matter of speed vs the system used.

And when I asked people on a couple forums to compare this Flipping Book with another I was using before, it ended up as the prefered one and contrary to the old one I was using, it worked for everybody and didn't cause any problem.

I think that the performance will depend a lot on how the Flipping Book will be implemented by the creator of the book... swf vs jpg, etc...
