How I use it so far
« on: July 14, 2010, 03:42:24 pm »
I tried to find how I liked things to look and after a lot of reading and trying I came up with this.

http://gtechblues.com/MZ3books/index_ASimpleAfternoonProject.html

It is the simplest of the tutorials I posted on my site, and some have more pages. But the look should stay consistent for a while, until I learn more about the plug-ins and all. Mainly, I changed the icons and the location of the navigation bar, and reorganized the order of the objects in it.

Btw, I just took the pictures and the text from a wood carving tutorial someone posted on a forum and converted it to a better format for consulting. So it is not very fancy. But it was perfect for learning how to make a book and work on the look of the book more than in the content.

My next step will be to make a photo book, and that means more reading and trying again...

Then the fun will begin when I will be able to make a book from my own work. I will try to be more inventive then.

Any suggestions are welcome.

I really like your button graphics. Did you make them yourself?

Thanks,

I used some free icons I found on the net, and modified them with the free Icon Editor from this site

http://greenfish.xtreemhost.com/downloads.php

That program is what made a big difference. You can change the color and the size of icons, and make them 3D easily.

Here is an example of another set of icons I tried
