Rotatation of book - after initialisation
« on: August 24, 2010, 12:23:11 pm »
The option to rotate a book as it is being read...shift from portrait to landscape. Useful when a reader switches from a page full of text to a page containing a chart or graph that appears on its side in the original PDF or Word document.

Funny coincidence;FLorian and I discussed that becasue I saw a book with 220 pages of only tables with data/numbers in  landscape mode on one page. Very hard to read and I was missing that feature also.
Gallery mode support rotation of images, but if the builder of the book did not provide a gallery view, you're lost without that asked for feature.

Will nto make it into the next release, expected still this month. But will make it to the list...

As this was actually quite simple to do I decided to quickly do this before the release, so it'll be in the next release ;)

Added in latest revision: buttons in navbar and access via API (IMegaZine.bookRotation and in JS via setRotation/getRotation).

I try to find an answer about my question and I think that to put it here was the best way to try to improve MZ3 :-\.

I rotate my book at 90° to get a sort of diary ::). I must say that I find some troubles with the drag range and autodrag functions.  :'(

In fact if the book is rotate at 90°, the "drag range area" still stay at 0° :(. So it's impossible (not really impossible because if you know were the drag area are, it's possible to turn the pages of course) to use the autodrag for a visitor, you must use the plugins "bookmarks". 8)

I hope there is a solution to correct the behaviour of the pages.

Do you use the latest version? The incorrect cursor recognition for rotated books was fixed in revision 500, which went into release 2.0.10.

Could you try the latest nightly? Because with the current snapshot I see no problems whatsoever.
Also, make sure to clear your cache when updating / replacing files!

So first I must say that I made a mistake. It was not 90° rotation but 270° rotation ... sorry. :-[
So I download the v2.0.10.7z of megazine 3 in the forum "annoucements" ... and ... it works very well ... so I apologies a second time ... :-X (When I think you read again the lines of the soft for me ...  :-[)

But I don't understand again becaus the first version I dl was here http://www.megazine3.de/ and it's the 2.0.10 zip no?

So thank you for your help ... but it doesn't change anything in the behaviour of IE (my other message in general support ...  ::)

Regarding zip or 7Z:
The link on www.megazine3.de has a left and a right part:
If you click left on the word "MegaZine3 2.0.10", you'll get the 7Z version
If you click right on the "(zip)", you'll get the zipped version

Alternatively you could download the latest development version as zipped file as nightly build:
http://www.megazine3.de/download/nightly/

Actually it is at 515
With a nice new feature to try: the new "index" plugin, which will show thumbs of the pages in an overview pages. Like the page selection with the print plugin.

A short description can be found at facebook: http://www.facebook.com/MegaZine3
And the demo package also was updated and now provides a new version of MegaZine3 as well as updated tools.
The link is provided in the tutorial:
