To clarify OpenSource:

Version 1.x is fully OpenSource and licensed under GPL. That version is "frozen" and no more touched since about 1.5 years. It also is based on a different kernel with a very reduced set of features, no plugin support, ...
Versions 2.0.x and the soon available v2.1.x are OpenSource in the sense that we give access to all sources. But it is licensed under our proprietary license and no more under GPL.

Because of many advantages (features, speed, support, documentation, ...) we suggest version 2.x
There is a free version, called MZ3-FREE that can be used for private and commercial purposes. With all features supported, but limited to 50 pages and with the request to keep logo and preloader. The number of titles is not limited

So you could split your book into 10 instances with 50 pages each, and use the free version.

One full license for a book with unlimited pages, unlimited changes for the Online version and unlimited copies for a parallel Offline version costs 50 Euro without tax (59,50 Euro with German VAT).
There are big discounts for packages of 5, 20, 100 or more licenses; like a 75% discount for a package of 100 licenses. See the overview on our (still under construction) site http://mz3store.com/shop.html

If you have more questions, just let me know!
