[Release] MegaZine3 Version 2.1.0
(1/1)
Florian Nücke:
Version 2.1.0 is now available.
This version marks a major step, which is also represented in the version numbering.
As of this version, MegaZine3 will require Flash Player 10. For now, this only means
that there have been some adjustments "under the hood". Aside from several bugfixes
the biggest improvement with this version is proper compatibility with Air.
As an outlook, this opens up a couple of possibilities. The first one we'll look into will
probably be replacing the old TextFields used for the <txt> element and <text> ASUL
object with it's pendant from the new Text Layout Framework.
For developers, or anyone that "communicates" with the engine via code: there have
been some API changes, some due to switching to typed vectors, where sensible,
some that were simply minor additions. In short, this means you'll have to at least
recompile your SWFs. In some cases adjustments to the code may be required
(Array -> Vector.<Something>).
When upgrading: more than for any upgrade before, please make sure to replace all
SWF files with the new ones, and to clear your cache after doing so.
Some of you may already have noticed (those not coming directly to the forum ;)):
we have a new home page / main page. The goal was to unify the project and store
pages, to bring everything together in one place. Please let us know what you think!
One little drawback: the user account management is not (yet) unified, so if you want to
use the shop, you'll have to register there, too. We're sorry for this inconvenience.
We will also perform a pruning of the forum next weekend. This means that anyone
who has not a single post and has not logged in in the last 30 days will
have his or her account deleted.
Finally, together with the introduction of our new licensing model we also had to take
the step to "secure" the SVN repository. Is is still publicly available, but for legal
reasons we must require anyone accessing it to accept to our Terms and Conditions
first. The easiest way to ensure this was to add a password for anonymous users.
You can find it and a short version of the T&Cs here: http://www.megazine3.de/svn.html
Sorry about that.
As usual, see the version history in the wiki for more information.
