Bug - MZ 1.3.6 and video

Hello Florian,

Just for your information  - I suppose there is a bug in the new 1.3.6 version: Videos do not show up.

After abt. 2 hours of converting my videos into several formats with H.264 encoding, none of them showed up on my MZ 1.3.6 pages, though. I became suspicious and tried a video that works fine in 1.3.5 version. This video does not run with 1.3.6 either.

Now I have moved all my content for the new book to MZ 1.3.5 - and voilá, the videos are working fine!

Hello Maxie,

there were some (necessary) changes to the video in this version, so it sure might be that I introduced a new bug
Yet, the demo works fine, and is also running 1.3.6... in case you were upgrading, have you also updated the vid.swf in the elements folder? Also, have you tried clearing the cache? It might be that Flash still loads the old vid.swf anyways, because it's left in the cache.

Dear Florian,

Thank you for your reply. When I upgraded, I started completely anew with your fresh new 3.1.6 package, i.e. also the elements folder was the new one from your ZIP. As the videos did not work, I copied my pictures into 3.1.5. - Perhaps the cache is the reason then. I will check (with the next book), whether the reason for my videos not working was, indeed, the cache,  and will let you know here.

This evening, you have impressed some new people with your great work! :-) They like your Megazine very much, too.

Hello Florian,

This is just to let you know that you were right. I use version 3.1.6 again, videos are showing up correctly. So it must have been something with the  "Flash" cache. Once again, thank you!
