[Beta] MegaZine3 Version 2.0.0 Beta 1
« on: September 01, 2009, 11:41:27 PM »
This is the beta of the upcoming version 2 of the engine. This means:

  • Some functionality has not yet been reimplemented (help and password).
  • There are probably still some bugs in the hiding.
  • Publishers: you need to load a few plugins depending on which functionality you need (see here).
  • Publishers: some attribute changes (see here).
  • Developers: the code has undergone major refactoring, a lot of the (internal) workings have changed. If you only used the MegaZine class as it was, there should be no big surprises for you, except regarding the changes to the events used (see here).

Now, first and foremost, I installed a wiki on the server, which can be found here:
http://megazine.mightypirates.de/wiki

I still need to add some information, as I plan to completely migrate the xml documentation to the wiki. Furthermore, I plan to move the translations to the wiki, to make it easier for people to contribute.
Feel free to help fill the wiki with useful information and add information where I might have been to brief (because, as the developer, it's also a curse knowing too much, because it makes it harder to imagine what others might not understand).

If anyone has some experience with wikis (mediawiki in particular), especially regarding localization I'd be happy if you'd contact me and let me know how best to achieve that goal (or just do it, if possible ;)).

So, the beta: download here.
(This is a 7-Zip archive, which is the format the coming releases will be in, too. Why? Because it has better compression ratios, and is freeware.)

As this is a beta, I cannot really recommend using it where availability matters. Nonetheless, I encourage everyone trying it out, because every bug you don't find in the beta will be in the first release ;)

For the Snark was a Boojum, you see.

Before you ask a question
          After you get an answer
  • please document your problem with the answer in the Project Wiki. (e.g. in the FAQs)
  • help others out if you can, by answering their questions on the forum.
