Notepad++

Notepad++ offers a more comfortable work with XML files like megazine.mz3. Notepad++ interprets the syntax of the selected "language", in case of megazine.mz3 and *.asul files this is XML.

Sidenote: Notepad++ also understands many other languages like CSS, HTML, PHP, Python, C++, ...

Context sensitive editing means that different elements are color coded:
Comments, elements, attributes, values, ... All can be shown in different, configurable colors. This tremendously helps to read "tagged" files.

Aa comparison between a standard editor view and the same data shown with notepad++ clearly shows the benefits of a context sensitive editor: a highly improved readability.

It is obvious that with color coded elements the content is much better to interpret.
Notepad++ only supports Windows. For alternative solutions for a MAC please see our FAQ answer.
Notepad++ can be downloaded from several sources like sourceforge.

Configure notepad++ to make .mz3 and .asul files treated as xml files. Open the "style configurator" (in "settings"), select XML as language and add  "mz3" and "asul" as user extensions into the "user text." box.

You then can select a style theme for all XML type files; in this case Black Board is selected.
A theme is a preset of a color schema. You can individually modify the colors defining color styles for each style.
