Image Folder

For the first simple photo book we will put everything into the new folder you already prepared on your desktop: mz3_photo_book/

This folder already contains the MegaZine3 software. Now we add a folder that will contain the images/photos. Please create a subfolder in the megazine/ folder and name it images/. The name and location can be freely selected. For this example/tutorial we use a folder named images/.

Adding Photos

The only other preparation needed before the photo book can be build is to provide some data, i.e. images. Those images should be saved in the folder images/ you just created.
For this example we'll use photos from different cameras as well as scanned photos. WIth different resolution and aspect ratio. To enable you to do the same steps of this tutorial on your computer with the same data, you can download the photos  we use; in two different resolutions. If you have a slow internet connection please select the smaller package.

Photos in full resolution

Photos in full resolution Photos in full resolution (55.3 MB)

Photos in low resolution

Photos in low resolution Photos in low resolution (1.9 MB)

These photos had been collected, saved in a temporary folder, resized and then renamed.

You have all flexibilities and can use whatever tools you like to manipulate your photos. We'll give you some examples and show you some proven methods and tools later. For now just take our photos or use yours. When we create the book we'll discuss naming and location of the images briefly again.

After the photos that should go into this first photo book are copied into the images/ folder, all preparations are done and we soon can start with the creation of the MegaZine3 photo book - after some more thoughts and planning...

Other Content

Besides photos also videos, sound, text and other elements can be positioned in a similar way on a page of a MegaZine3 title/book. To keep things organized, different content should be saved in different folders. In other tutorials a more flexible (and complex) folder structure will be presented and shown, how additional elements like videos can be added to pages.

Copy photos and videos to the prepared folders in the new root folder of the photo book
